Parhelion honors Ichikawa Danjūrō V's "Costume of the Night Watch" from 1781—voluminous black robes bearing the character "kin" (金) that transformed the actor into a guardian patrolling darkness. The sculpture embodies this duality through three parts: a central mask with two halves that open and close.
